2013-14 Membership Research Report
Were you one of the 425 membership organisations that took part in Sue Froggatt’s 2013-14 Membership Research Report? If you are there’s a good chance you’ll have received your copy via email this morning.
Silverbear were proud to be the inaugural sponsors of this report. We have a long history of working with Sue, so were pleased when she asked us if we’d like to be part of this year’s research.
The report showed that one key way that membership organisations are planning on supporting their growth over the next 12 months is by improving their data accuracy as well as their reporting and management systems.
In the report, respondents stated that:
- Currently (there is) no link-up between our web content management system (CMS) and our membership database, which can duplicate workload and cause data issues
- We want all data about members in one database
- We want increased targeted marketing, better website and integrated CRM
- We want to start using a professional membership management software tool to generate better reporting and further automate interaction with, and among, members.
These statements support our key message to “Get Closer To Your Members”. Successful membership organisations are driven by their members. But this can only happen when an institution has the insight and the tools to enable each of their teams to gain a central view of their member’s details, history, interests and activities.
Membership organisations wouldn’t exist without members. They are, without doubt, the drivers and instigators of change within any institution. But who are your members? What are their challenges? What are their expectations of being a member? This information is only available if you have fully integrated processes and systems in place to listen to your members, and to track their behaviour and activity 24/7 across multiple channels.
We’re pleased to see that this year’s report has confirmed that we are preaching the right message. We believe that great membership organisations have great relationships with their members that are underpinned by great processes and systems–our clear purpose is to enable membership organisations “to get you closer to your members”.
We do this in a number of ways.
Firstly, our solution is built on Microsoft Dynamics CRM. This allows our clients to enjoy an open, secure, familiar & scalable IT platform that can integrate into pretty much all areas of a business operation; now and in the future.
Secondly, our solution facilitates greater membership interaction, which leads to greater membership insight. Whilst this might not sound amazing the result are. Our solution ensures our clients build better relationships with their members and communities to secure higher levels of renewal and recruitment all in an environment that is operationally efficient.
Better for your organisation and better for your members.
So what does 2014 hold for membership organisations? Well it would appear from this report that it has the potential to deliver great things for many of you. With goals to focus on recruitment, engagement and retention, a lot of you are looking to grow your membership base significantly. Those that aren’t have an emphasis on retaining existing members and improving the level of value you can provide.
Whatever your goals, we wish you a successful and positive year, and hope that the report provides you with practical insights to help improve the offering and services of your organisation.
