Rising to the challenge: A spotlight on … Tally Judge, Head of Marketing at ClearCourse Membership Services

My life in marketing began in publishing. Well, a world-leading events company that specialises in creating customer-focused content.

Total Telecom, which connects the buyers and sellers of global communications, taught me a huge amount and laid the foundations for what turned out to be a really rewarding career.

However, after five years, I decided to pursue a change of direction. I knew I wanted to continue as a marketeer, but it was time to find a new sector. And that’s when I jumped into the world of insurance via Thomas Miller, an international provider of market leading insurance services.

In many ways I fell into the role after accepting a maternity cover contract – but I loved it. Thankfully - for me at least – the person I had temporarily replaced decided not to return, so I filled the post and ended up staying there for almost three years. It was a great experience; I learned a huge amount and had the opportunity to work with some of the UK’s most prominent PR agencies.

By this point, I was beginning to carve a reputation within the insurance sector. So, when the opportunity to work at Charles Taylor - a globally renowned insurance firm specialising in technology-led insurance solutions - presented itself, I grabbed it.

Looking back, this decision was the start of me veering towards insurance software automation, a move that was proceeded by two years at DOCOsoft, an insurance automation software firm, which ultimately led me to where I am today.

ClearCourse Membership Services (CCMS) has become synonymous with delivering first-class membership management solutions, so it’s great to now be a part of the team.  It’s a huge challenge, but one that I’m very much looking forward to.  There is so much talent and expertise currently working across all our brands, so the opportunities are endless.

I’m also looking forward to attending what has now become one of the most important events in my calendar - MemberWise’s Digital Excellence 2023. As a recent addition to the CCMS team, there’s a huge amount to learn, but I already know that this is where many of the key players and contributors to the world of membership meet. So, if you are attending this year’s event, be sure to say ‘hello’ and introduce yourself.

It's unlikely that I’ll have the time (or the energy) to venture into London’s theatre district after the event, but that’s where I like to wind down. Whilst I was born in Royal Leamington Spa, I now live in East London, so I’ll head to the theatre whenever possible. I recently saw 2:22 A Ghost Story at The Apollo Theatre and was pleasantly surprised to see Cheryl Cole in an acting role. She was very good, too.

With so much to learn and multiple brands to support, I may have to put my passion for theatre on hold. But there’s plenty to keep me busy and I’m really excited about working with the membership and NFP sector.
