Silverbear, the UK and Ireland’s membership CRM expert, has gone to the top of the class after winning a contract to support the Teaching Council, the professional standards body for the teaching profession in Ireland, as it transitions towards becoming a digital organisation.

The firm, which holds more Microsoft accreditations than any other UK-based CRM provider and processes £36.6m in membership payments each month, beat the competition in an EU-wide competitive tender process.

Silverbear will now replace the Teaching Council’s existing CRM infrastructure with a platform built on Microsoft Dynamics that can be scaled in line with the regulatory body’s growth. Key operational areas set to undergo a comprehensive digital transformation programme include registration, qualification assessment, renewals, management of conditions, document management, general CRM functionality and GDPR compliance.

The new platform will also accelerate the vetting process of each and every teacher, which is undertaken by the National Vetting Bureau.

Phil Fox, Deputy Director at the Teaching Council, comments: “Silverbear has a proven track record of delivering large scale digital transformation projects within the membership sector. Its reputation, and the range of functionality its platform provides, left us in no doubt that Silverbear is the right CRM partner for us. Future proofing the Teaching Council is very important, as is increasing the efficiency of the organisation. We’re addressing both of these aspects with Silverbear and implementing a system that will evolve in line with the demands of our organisation and its registrants.”

The Teaching Council anticipates that moving from traditional paper-based systems to a contemporary digital platform will significantly reduce manual administration time, which will be reinvested into other areas of the organisation while also reducing carbon footprint. The digital transformation will also offer a modern and efficient means of communication with all registered teachers and applicants, giving them 24/7 access to their details and real-time updates on applications.

Carl Grieves, Chief Executive at Silverbear, adds: “The Teaching Council is a vital organisation that provides the framework necessary for teachers to thrive in their profession. To be able to play a role in helping the organisation become more efficient and digitally resilient is hugely rewarding. We’re delighted to have won the contract, proud that Silverbear continues to grow its customer base in Ireland, and we now look forward to helping The Teaching Council begin its digital transformation journey.”

Silverbear also works with Dublin Chamber, the Irish National Teachers’ Organisation and Northern Ireland Social Care Council. It has significantly expanded its presence in Ireland over the last 12 months and currently has 4.25 million members under management across a high-profile customer base.
